Noise confirmed to be internal engine mechanical in nature. No abnormal accessory or exhaust-related noise detected. Perform RPM response test, knocking noise increases proportionally with engine rpm, consistent with internal engine mechanical failure. Performed oil cap removal test no excessive crankcase blow by or abnormal position observed at this time. Perform scan tool health report. Found pending misfire cylinder 6 and permanent misfire cylinder 6 stored and ecm. Based on findings, concern is consistent with internal engine mechanical failure with associated misfire on cylinder 6.
